Cat eats and Goggles get a thumbs up from me.
I don't see why people think this isn't part of halloween. The festival masks tend to be nods to IRL pop-culture and such with a little guild wars twist.
You may as well complain when they add all the various in-jokes involving Serenity, or Strong Bad, or ANYTHING else for that matter.
Good to see this place hasn't changed. Some of you people have nothing better to do than complain about irrelevant things do you?

That is exactly what I did with my ele.
And now my Mesmer is just as Steampunk as I always wanted her to be.
Count me as another happy player.

What I love most of all is that 90% or more of the people saying "I love these hats/they have nothing to do with anime!" have anime related avatars.
Go figure...
Oh, I hate anime, and these hats. I don't care if people like them, the sad part is that I am forced to see them when I go into town. They need to add an option to turn off stupid things (I hate most of the hats in general, but I loath these ones).

But as someone else said nice to see this place sure hasn't changed much lol

Aha! I knew the moment I saw the goggles that Mesmer Ancient would be a perfect match. Now I finally have an excuse to spend the money on it.

Maybe they have half a brain and know why BLACK CAT ears were given out for HALLOWEEN?
Maybe a ghost mask would have been better choice? It fits with the Halloween theme as well! Oh wait, a few people would probably insist that there's an obvious KKK connection instead of seeing it for what it is... a freaking ghost mask. You're complaining about black cat ears. Black... freaking... cat... ears. Not pink or purple!
I don't necessarily want to see everyone and their mom wearing a ninja mask with armor that doesn't even remotely go with it, but I have to. I choose to laugh at the fashion road-kill instead of get all worked up about it. It keeps my blood pressure at a semi-healthy level.
Requesting that they allow you to disable stuff like this just because you don't like it is selfish. They should use their resources on options like that only when cosmetic things are causing performance issues. Could you be more narrow-minded and selfish? Play in districts that aren't usually populated. That or uninstall and avoid most current games.

No idea why ppl QQ about this. Imo both goggles and cat ears are better hats than some previous ones. I like these "normal" hat rather than Charr hat, Scarecrow hat which are hard to fit with armors. These I can wear everyday.

I'm happy.
And WTF do goggles have to do with anime? They're steampunk -- which, by the look of things, fits VERY nicely with GW.
Heck, I'm dragging my Mesmer out of retirement just so I can get her some Norn armor to go with the goggles.
Here's my Ranger with the goggles and her Deldrimor armor:

<3 the cat ears. wish i could wear them with my glasses, but oh well. the goggles are meh for me, but -very- nice to see accessories that potentially fit in with certain armor types (unlike ye olde pumpkin head)
what's with all the angry trolls hatin on anime? it's like their childhood puppy was run over by dragonballz or something.

That got me to thinking that several other Ancient sets are kinda steampunky too, which led to the latest victim, my Elementalist...this dye job isn't perfect, but I'm not willing to use the black dye I'd need to get it dark enough. :P

While I'm pretty much indifferent to the cat ears, I don't see the anime connection everyone else does but that may have something to do with the fact the only anime I've ever watched was Akira and Ghost in the Shell, and I was drunk as a skunk then so remember nothing about them anyway. :P
Goggles aren't too bad, tho I think I'd prefer them if they went over the eyes instead of on the forehead. ^^

I felt that way too at first, but now that I've had time to experiment with them, I like that my characters can "wear" them while still allowing me to see their faces. Of course, the best option would be if we had two versions, one over the eyes and one not, but I think that's too much to hope for.

Agreed. Over the eyes of my ranger would be cool.

Pumpkin Crown
Furious Pumpkin Crown
Wicked Hat
Scarecrow Mask
Mummy Mask
Zombie Face Paint
Lupine Mask
Charr Hat (The only other one that doesn't really fit either, imo)
Skeleton Face Paint
Furrocious Ears fit to me, I guess. It's black cat ears.
The goggles, not so much. They're not really related to anything to do with Halloween except that you put on costumes, which if that's all you're relating them to - any of the masks released in Guild Wars could fit into Halloween technically. They're cool, though. I like them.
I missed the freakin' goggles, the ones I really wanted.

I think the goggles look really cool, particularly on mesmers and rangers.

Good lord people. You whined about getting another pumpkin. You whined about getting another facepaint. Now you're whining that we're getting something that's actually completely original (in GW, at least). Give it a rest already!
If you don't like them, fine, don't wear them. I sure as heck don't wear any of the pumpkins or monster masks we've traditionally gotten, so I'm glad that there is a (quite large, it seems) audience who is extremely pleased to have a few "accessory" style masks they will wear year-round.
Also, the "steampunk" attire above me suddenly makes me want to start experimenting with the goggles.
